Our answers regarding your order

For us at lingoking, our interpreters and translators, as well as our clients, are always at the centre of our attention. This is precisely why we want to facilitate the best possible communication between you, us and our clientele. On this overview page, we would like to briefly present the answers to frequently asked questions and the advantages of working for lingoking.

Registering on our platform offers you the following advantages:

FAQ: Registration

Register as a language service provider in just 4 steps and get started. 1, 2, 3, 4 - King/Queen.

Registration consists of four steps:

  • Enter your contact details
  • Information regarding your skills: Here you can specify your language combinations, subject area and language service type
  • Upload your application documents, such as CV, references/testimonials

After you have completed these steps, you are registered on the platform. Your profile will then be checked by a lingoking employee.

Registering on our platform offers you the following advantages:

  • acceptance of orders around the clock, whenever you like
  • expansion of the customer base by taking on orders from new clients

Anyone who wants to translate or interpret for lingoking must meet certain criteria. The requirements that have to be met for collaboration with us can be read here. In order to accredit you as a freelance interpreter/translator for our platform, we require certain documents from you, such as certificates and references, which we will then check.

When registering, you can simply upload these files. In addition, all the data you enter on the platform is protected against data misuse.

Registration guarantees you smooth communication with the lingoking team as well as with customers.

You can select one or more of the following language service types during registration:

  • Text translation
  • Interpreting
  • Telephone interpreting

You can specify which language combinations and which subject areas you work with. In addition, you can specify whether you are certified/sworn or whether you also offer simultaneous interpreting.

It is important to us that we can deliver impeccable quality to our customers. We cannot assume that all applicants are qualified translators or interpreters. In order to be able to check this, we need proof of your degree or formulated letters of reference.

If you would like to work as a translator or interpreter for lingoking, you either need a degree as a translator and/or interpreter from an ATA-certified university/college or you must have several years of proven professional experience. If you have either a suitable degree or sufficient professional experience, we would be happy to have you register on our platform.

Once your registration has been completed, your documents will be checked by lingoking and you will receive feedback as soon as possible as to whether cooperation will take place.

All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. This means that these fields must be filled in correctly in order to continue the registration process.

In order for the times, such as the delivery or start date of an order, to be displayed to you according to your time zone, you must specify your time zone when registering.

PLEASE NOTE: For interpreting assignments, the time of the appointment is always displayed in the local time of the assignment location.

For text translation orders, the delivery date will be displayed according to your time zone. Thus, the times displayed to you may be different from those of the client if the client lives in a different time zone than you.


FAQ: Profile

Does your profile have what it takes to be a lingoqueen or a lingoking? Then show it off with pride too. This not only creates confidence, but also corresponds to our ideas regarding transparency towards our customers.

Your profile will only be seen by the lingoking team.

Uploading a profile picture on the platform is voluntary. It simply makes working together more pleasant when you see a face and know who you are working with.


FAQ: Matching

Our approach for best quality and speed. The perfect match helps not only our clients but also the linguists. Simply more subject- and language-specific.

You can log in to the platform at any time. There, under "Enquiries", you can see if there are any jobs available that match your profile. In addition, you will also receive an email as soon as an order is posted on our platform that matches your language combination.

In principle, lingoking offers all language combinations. It is difficult to make a statement about a future order situation with regards to a particular language combination.

This can be for several reasons. Either there are no jobs currently open in your language combinations or you have not yet been accredited.

For fixed-price orders, you will receive an email and can take a close look at the order. As soon as you click on "Accept", you undertake to accept the order under the conditions stated.


FAQ: Orders

The easiest way to get orders is through our platform. Versatile, interesting and safe. Help us with the implementation.

You can see all the jobs that match your skills. However, we have to verify your skills first before you can accept orders.

Certified translations to be submitted in Germany can only be made by a translator sworn in Germany.

Different regulations apply depending on the state in which the translation is required. Ideally, the client should enquire with the competent authority what the necessary requirements for the translation are before placing the order. If no information is available in this regard at the time of commissioning, please ask your client which certification is required (e.g. German certification, Austrian certification, etc.) before executing the order.

When you view orders on our platform, some of them are marked with certain symbols to help you get a better overview.

If you are unable to carry out the assignment for valid reasons, you are first obliged to find a replacement who can take over the assignment for you.

If this is not possible for you, please let the lingoking staff know as soon as possible.

Once you have made a binding commitment to an order, you can no longer cancel it.

If you are unable to complete the order for a very valid reason, please let us know as early as possible.

Basically, the same requirements apply to telephone interpreters as to on-site interpreters. In addition, as a telephone interpreter you will need a landline telephone or internet connection and you should be in a quiet place during the assignment.

There are several ways to fix the problem:

Access the platform via another browser (our recommendation for smooth use is Chrome).

General questions about payment

Paying our linguists should be simple and straightforward. We have summarised all the important questions for you here.

The lingoking platform is extremely secure. Data that you enter there cannot be passed on to third parties. If you enter data in our platform, this is, for example, more secure than if you send it to us by e-mail.

Providing your bank details is optional. As soon as you wish to release an order for acceptance, we need your bank details so that we can transfer your fee to you promptly.

Fees at lingoking vary according to the assignment and depend on factors such as language combination, type of interpreting, time frame and complexity.

Should the event last longer than agreed, overtime will be remunerated additionally, according to the attendance confirmation signed by the client, from the 10th minute onward. If you accept an order at a given price, the additional hours will be remunerated as follows:

  • 85€ (simultaneous & whispered interpreting
  • 70€ (consecutive & liaison interpreting)
  • 60€ (escort interpreting)
