Translation of text modules for campaign video by VAUDE Sport.

VAUDE Sport GmbH produces sustainable outdoor equipment and clothing. VAUDE has an international presence and sells its products in various countries around the world. This is also reflected on the website. In addition to the focus language German, communication is primarily in English, French and Dutch. These languages are needed to cover the most important target markets (UK, US, France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands) and to address customers emotionally and in their mother tongue.

The requirement was to quickly translate text passages for the two collection videos "sustainable insulation" and "recycled softshells" from German into 3 languages. These text passages in the image clip were to address the customers emotionally - analogue to the source text. A simple translation was not enough here. It was important for us to have these texts challenged again by native speakers. This type of translation with localisation ensures that the customers not only understand the message, but that the brand message is also appropriately memorable.

This is how VAUDE communicates its attitude on its website. We think that's great and that's why we are even more pleased that we were able to realise this project with them.

Admittedly, our Head of Marketing used to work for the company himself and knows what is important when translating product texts and video content for fashion and equipment. Nevertheless, the outdoor industry is also constantly evolving, communicates with its own technical terms and speaks to its very own target groups. Outdoor enthusiasts and mountain bikers want to be addressed in their own language. They attach importance to the correct use of technical terms and address, and not only in German.

With the translation of the collection clips, our outdoor adventure with VAUDE now begins and we hope that our journey together will provide us with many more interesting insights into nature and the mountains. Because what connects us is not only the love for the mountains but also for diversity.
