lingoking interprets at the International Automobile Fair 2014
Munich, 30th September 2014 – For the "German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation" (GIZ), lingoking interpreters are working at this year's International Automobile Fair (IAA). As a competent service provider, GIZ helps the German government to reach its targets in international cooperation and looks after a delegation from South Africa at the IAA. This group of 27 people should gain a comprehensive insight into the exhibition and its most important exhibitors. Two lingoking interpreters will interpret simultaneously in German and English with a sound induction system and inform the guests on topics relating to the automobile industry, with particular emphasis on transport refrigeration and refrigerated vehicles.
The interpreter Wolfgang Katenz explains what is special about this interpreting assignment: "You have to help the participants at every stage of communication and 'take them by the hand'. That even starts when helping the participants adjust their machines and ensuring that all the headphones are receiving sound. As an interpreter at the IAA, you are in direct contact with the participants, which is different to working as an interpreter in a booth. Thanks to this, we are better appreciated as ambassadors and points of contact. Through an appropriate and professional performance, we interpreters can contribute to the success of the event."
